EMT Didactic Type
Online Hybrid
The Online Hybrid format combines flexible, independent learning with scheduled live instruction. Coursework features short-format, interactive, and dynamic video content professionally filmed on campus by the NMETC Education Content Team, paired with scheduled live sessions led by your Lead Instructor.
This format offers students greater flexibility while still providing opportunities for live interaction, instructor support, and engagement throughout the course.
Online Live
The Online Live format features regularly scheduled, instructor-led classes held live in our online classroom. Students are expected to attend these sessions in real time.
This format also incorporates components of NMETC’s short-format, interactive, and dynamic video content to supplement live instruction and reinforce key concepts.
If you are unable to attend a class live, you must watch the full class recording by the assigned deadline to receive attendance credit.
On-Campus
The On-Campus format provides traditional, instructor-led classroom learning at our West Bridgewater, Massachusetts campus. Students attend scheduled classes in person and receive face-to-face instruction from NMETC educators.
This format provides a structured classroom environment with direct access to instructors, classmates, and hands-on learning opportunities throughout the course.
This format also incorporates components of NMETC’s short-format, interactive, and dynamic video content to supplement live instruction and reinforce key concepts.
All EMT Programs Immersive Lab Sessions
Students in the Immersive Lab Sessions format complete their hands-on skills training during an intensive 6-day, in-person lab session held at the end of the didactic phase of the program.
The session takes place at our West Bridgewater, Massachusetts campus from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM each scheduled day.
NMETC works with a local hotel that offers discounted rates for our students, and shuttle transportation is provided between the hotel and NMETC each day.

Paramedic Didactic Options:
Online Hybrid
The Online Hybrid format combines flexible, independent learning with scheduled live instruction. New York Students: This format does not meet New York’s 51% live didactic requirement for initial paramedic reciprocity.
Online Live

This format also incorporates components of NMETC’s short-format, interactive, and dynamic video content to supplement live instruction and reinforce key concepts.

Paramedic Lab Options:
Progressive Lab Sessions
Students in the Progressive Lab Sessions format complete 15 in-person lab sessions throughout the didactic phase of the program. Labs are held from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM at our West Bridgewater, Massachusetts campus on scheduled lab dates.
This format is ideal for students who live in New England or within traveling distance of campus and are able to attend in-person lab sessions consistently throughout the program.
New Jersey Students: Progressive lab schedules may not meet New Jersey’s requirements. Students intending to pursue initial reciprocity in New Jersey are strongly encouraged to submit the program’s didactic and laboratory schedule to the New Jersey Office of Emergency Medical Services (OEMS) for review prior to enrollment to confirm that the program format meets the state’s current requirements.
Immersive Lab Sessions
Students in the Immersive Lab Sessions format complete their hands-on skills training during an intensive 12-day, in-person lab session held at the end of the didactic phase of the program.
The session takes place at our West Bridgewater, Massachusetts campus from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM each scheduled day.
This format is ideal for students who live outside of New England or farther from campus or students who prefer to complete their required skills training during one concentrated trip to Massachusetts.
NMETC works with a local hotel that offers discounted rates for our students, and shuttle transportation is provided between the hotel and NMETC each day.
New Jersey Students: This lab format does not meet New Jersey’s requirements for initial paramedic reciprocity.
